Come unwind with a glass of wine and have a therapeutic evening of art. If you’re new to the wheel you will learn the basics of wedging, centering, and throwing a piece on the wheel. If you already have experience you can refresh your memory and get back into the swing of it. You’ll also have the opportunity for hand building, using the slab roller and the extruder to create beautiful pieces of art, anything from bowls and cups to jewelry and much more!**Surgeon Potter’s Warning** Consumption of alcoholic beverages impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery such as the potter’s wheel. Impaired judgement may cause your pots to look better than they actually are, and decrease success rates in throwing on the wheel. Please drink responsibly

Aerial Hoop and Trapeze Class 2021

Class will consist of a thorough warm up, followed by conditioning on and off the trapeze or aerial hoop. We will work on connecting moves into fun sequences and flows. New skills will be taught for each class, and old skills revisited. We will train flexibility at the end of class. Online reservations are required. Max count is 4 participants. Participants must be 12 or older.

Adult and Teen Aerial Fabrics 2021

This aerial fabrics class is for individuals (15+) who want to learn basic skills on the aerial fabrics (AKA silks, or tissu.) Aerial fabrics are a fun, flowy, and athletic way to build strength, flexibility, and coordination. This class is geared toward beginners and first timers, but more advanced skills will be taught to returning students. This class is inclusive of all genders and fitness levels!

Private and Semi-private Aerial Lessons

Private and Semi-private Aerial Lessons For All Ages

Learn new skills on your apparatus of choice, be it aerial silks, trapeze, or lyra (aerial hoop,) with undivided instructor attention. There is no limit to the skills you can learn in one hour! Join “Born to Fly” certified instructor Giuliana ‘Jules’ Sheldon in individualized lessons. Gain strength, flexibility, and muscle memory by learning new poses, skills, climbs, and tricks on our state of the art equipment.
Jules teaches all levels of aerial arts from first timers to advanced students. She specializes in aerial silks, and has her Born to Fly Level 1 Fabrics Certification. For more information on privates or semi-privates, send her an email at Jules@fraservalleyrec.org.

This monthly series teaches adults and mature adolescents the foundational skills of aerial fabrics. After a thorough warm up, participants will explore skills including climbs, descents, poses, wraps and footlocks on fabrics. Class is limited to 6 participants to give everyone plenty of practice time! While class will focus on aerial fabrics (also known as silks,) a variety of other apparatus will be introduced throughout the month.
After completing this series, students are encouraged to attend future miniseries classes on a drop in basis. Students may also begin attending Adult Intermediate Aerials classes after completing a miniseries. If you have prior aerial experience and would like to skip the miniseries and move on to intermediate aerials, email Jules@fraservalleyrec.org.

Adult Intermediate Aerial class is geared towards those who have completed an Adult Aerial Miniseries, or have had previous aerial experience at another studio. Participants will learn intermediate level skills, and perfect beginner level skills on the aerial fabrics, as well as on trapeze or lyra (if requested.)

Participants must be able to perform the following skills successfully on a regular basis:
1. Two or more climbs up the fabric (~3 feet) with a controlled descent
2. Figure 8 foot lock while hanging from arms
3. Hip key
4. Pull over to seated on the hammock knot
