GPCRC and the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District support our active adult community by offering programs, activities, and events geared toward your uniques lifestyle. We believe that all ages should have access to recreational activities and strive to fit the needs of the Fraser Valley and all of Grand County, Colorado.
Silver Sneakers Fitness Classes
Silver Sneakers® Circuit: Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.
Silver Sneakers® Classic: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Silver Sneakers® Yoga: This class is designed to challenge you physically and mentally with a variety of simple and safe yoga exercises that you will do at your own pace. Using a chair for support, you will increase flexibility, build endurance and learn how to relax and think more clearly. Class is held on a wood floor so indoor shoes are required for the class, no outdoor shoes/boots and no stocking feet.
Silver Sneakers® Splash: Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! This class offers LOTS of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.
Silver Sneakers & Senior Fitness
Are you a SilverSneakers member? You might be. Several health insurance providers take part in the Healthways Program. Members of this program are entitled to free or reduced memberships at hundreds of fitness and recreation centers across the country. The Grand Park Community Recreation Center in Fraser, Co is one of these facilities. With a SilverSneakers Membership receive a complimentary annual entry pass and are able to attend any SilverSneakers class. To find out if you qualify, stop by the front desk or call 970.726.8968. Please have your insurance card with you and be ready to provide some basic information including your birthdate. If you qualify, we can set up your membership in minutes!
Silver & Fit is a similar program. This program is also provided by your healthcare provider. With a Silver & Fit membership you also qualify for a complimentary annual pass at the Grand Park Community Recreation Center. Currently, we do not offer Silver & Fit classes. To check if you qualify, contact your health care provider and be sure to get your Silver & Fit identification number. You will need this number when you set up your membership at our center.
What is SilverSneakers®
SilverSneakers® is a fun, energizing program that helps older adults take greater control of their health by encouraging physical activity and social events. SilverSneakers® members have access to the fitness area, swimming pool, steam & sauna rooms, and customized fitness classes*. SilverSneakers® fitness classes are designed exclusively for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance. How do I enroll in the program? Eligible members must be 65 and have a participating health plan provider. Contact us for a list of providers in Colorado. You can sign up at the front desk of the Grand Park Community Recreation Center (GPCRC). The process includes completing membership paperwork for GPCRC and for SilverSneakers®. The paperwork includes an Activity Readiness Assessment and a Physical Activity waiver. A Release for Activity form from your doctor may be required if you have any of the conditions listed on the Activity Readiness Assessment. If you are already a member of the GPCRC you will need to fill out the SilverSneakers® membership forms and freeze your GPCRC membership. Those with existing memberships or punch cards may receive a credit on their household account. After enrolling you will receive a swipe key card which you will use to swipe in at the front desk each time you enter the recreation center. Member information included Program information provided during the enrollment process. All program member information is kept confidential and private.

What is Silver&Fit®
The Grand Park Community Recreation Center is now a Silver&Fit® participating fitness facility. Silver&Fit is designed specifically to help older adults achieve better health through regular exercise and health education. Silver&Fit provides eligible members with no-cost or low-cost fitness memberships through arrangements with certain health plans. Silver&Fit is provided by American Specialty Health Fitness, Inc., a subsidiary of American Specialty Health Incorporated.
