Fraser Valley Recreation Foundation
Purpose:
It is the mission of the Fraser Valley Recreation Foundation (FVRF) to assist the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District (FVMRD) in initiating, supporting and continuing recreational programs, cultural events, and health and wellness projects for the benefit and enjoyment of residents and visitors of the Fraser Valley. In an effort to give participants access to programs, individuals and families may use this to apply for a scholarship which may cover part or all of a program fee or facility membership pass.

Criteria:
Scholarship applications are reviewed and prioritized based on certain criteria. This includes but is not limited to: financial need, extenuating circumstances, type of program, residency, and involvement in community and recreation programs. Priority will be given to beginner programs and for those that reside in Grand County.
Application Deadlines:
Scholarship deadlines are as follows: February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1. Scholarships will be reviewed within two weeks of each respective deadline. Scholarships may be considered in out of cycle on a case-by-case basis.
Guidelines:
- No more than $1200 will be awarded per household annually.
- Scholarships may be awarded in full or given in a partial amount of program cost.
- If partial amount is awarded, some programs are eligible to have the remaining portion covered by volunteer hours at $15 per hour.
- Submittal of an application does not guarantee scholarship.
- If scholarship dollars are awarded, applicants will be notified via email.
- An application should be filled out for each individual requesting a scholarship, unless a request is for family Recreation Center privileges.

- Request an application from Recreation Supervisor, Samantha Pritchard, at Samantha@fraservalleyrec.org or stop by the front desk of the Grand Park Community Recreation Center.

Fraser Valley Community Gardens
The Mission of the Fraser Valley Community Gardens is to enrich the individual, social and environmental health of Grand County through gardening education and providing residents the opportunity for learning how to grow their own food to become a more sustainable community.
The Fraser Community Garden is located at our Fraser Valley Sports Complex on the first dirt road off of CR 5, behind the ball fields, next to the ice rink in Fraser. There are 40 beds of various sizes and prices. 28 beds are inside the hoop house and 12 beds are outside with individual hoops. National Sports Center for the Disabled
It’s true! The National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) is recognized around the world as a premier therapeutic recreation organization, providing leadership and expertise in adaptive sports. Hard to believe we have it right here in Grand County! The NSCD offers a variety of year-round sports and recreational adventures. All programs are designed for individuals, families, and groups and are available for all levels of ability, from beginner to advanced.
